How to join
⚠️ Disclaimer: Bedrock Edition cannot be used to join, and this guide is a W.I.P.
There are a couple of methods to join AlphaPlace. Server addresses are alphaplace.net and alpha.place.
You can use regular b1.1_02 to join, or you can use modded a1.2.6. For the latter version, Windows7Ultimate made a video guide: YouTube Link

JRE links
The official launcher comes with a JRE. For other launchers (or if you want to use a different Java binary), you can use the OpenJDK builds from either of these vendors: * **Azul Zulu:** Download Link * **Adoptium Eclipse Temurin:** Download LinkMultiMC/PrismLauncher/Other forks
* **MultiMC:** https://multimc.org * **PrismLauncher:** https://prismlauncher.orgThe above launchers require you to have an account, though there are a couple of forks that allow you to add an offline account. You can deviate at some parts of this guide if you want to use a different fix, or anything else.
- Install either of the aforementioned launchers (MultiMC or PrismLauncher or what have you)
- Launch MultiMC (or fork), set up your account by clicking on the account selector in the top right corner, select
Manage Accounts..., and then selectAdd Microsoft.- Or
Add Offlineif that option is available on the fork you use.
- Or
- Select
Add Instance, and selectb1.1_02as the version by enablingBetasand scroll through the list until you see it. Change the details to your liking and selectOK. - Right-click (or left-click; open context menu) the newly created instance, and select
Edit, or select the same button on the sidebar after selecting the aforementioned instance. - Go to:
Settings-> TickJava installation->Auto-detectif you installed the JRE system wide.- If you downloaded the zip/tar archive, you simply extract it, select
Browsein the instance settings, navigate to the extracted JRE ->bin/javaand select thatjavafile. - Under MS Windows, use
javaw.exeinstead.

Launchand pray it works.
Installing the AP client
Download the client from here: APClientV202.zip. Do the same steps as above, except at: * **Step 3:** Usea1.2.6 as the version.
* **After step 4:** Version in the sidebar -> Add to minecraft.jar on the right-hand-side of the window -> Add APClientV202.zip
BetaCraft launcher
https://betacraft.uk/downloads On that page, scroll down and you'll see 2 options: * "Betacraft Launcher v2.0 (alpha)" includes easy mod support, but is generally a bit unstable and requires a Microsoft account with a Minecraft: Java Edition license. * 1.x (Both the "universal launcher JAR" and "latest Windows version") is generally more stable and allows any username to be used.2.x
ℹ Notice: 2.x requires a Microsoft account with a license for MC Java, and as 2.x is in alpha, the launcher can sometimes crash. Pray that it doesn't crash.
- Select
Accounts, thenAdd accountand login with your Microsoft account. - Select
Settings, then theJava Installationstab in the left hand column.- You should see your Java installations here, but there is a menu/button to download and install a Java distribution.
- Select the one prefixed with "
1.8.0", and in the list's lower left, selectSet as default. - Apple Silicon Mac (and non-x86-64 computer/unsupported OS) users only:
Settings->General-> DisableDiscord Rich presence(Because the RPC doesn't have a version for the aforementioned platform(s).)
- Select
Instances, thenAdd instance, then scroll down the list, and selectb1.1_02.- (Attempting to select the other tabs/searching and then selecting will crash the program.)
- And also: name your instance.
Now you can select the instance and hit Play, but for those that want to install the AP client:
- Download it - the full jar mod is linked in this very sentence.
- Head to the
Instancestab, right-click (or left-click if you configured it that way) your b1.1_02 instance,Edit->Mods->Add to minecraft.jar-> select theAPClientV202.zipfile. And selectSave.

Select version->b1.1_02.- If you want to use a cracked username, just input your username in the username input box and do not click
Login. - If you want to use your MS account, select
Login, and follow the instructions given.

- Once you log in, you can then select
Edit instanceif you want to change some settings - namely, the Java binary used.- Windows:
%programfiles%\<Java distributor name>\<Java 8 or something>\bin\javaw.exe - Arch Linux, via the jre8-openjdk package:
/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk/bin/java - macOS (if JRE is installed system-wide):

OK, and selectPlay.
Official launcher
This method isn't recommended and is just a last resort. Cracked users can't use this method either. By default, this launcher doesn't show old versions of the game before Release 1.0, and must be enabled in the settings.- Select the
Settingstab, found in the bottom left corner. - In the Enable
Show Historical versions of Minecraft: Java Edition in the Launcherunder Minecraft: Java Edition Settings in theGeneraltab. - Go back to the
Minecraft: Java Editiontab on the sidebar, open theInstallationstab and then selectNew Installation. - Enter the desired name of the install, and then select
old_beta 1.1_02in the version dropdown menu, then selectCreate. - Click on the
Minecraft: Java Editiontab on the sidebar again and select the installation you just made from the drop down menu and pressPlay.
